Take a tour of two of our favorite places near Charleston. Click on the links next to the pictures to see a slide show of the site. Cypress Gardens is the site of an old rice plantation. It is a black water cypress swamp which you can tour in a flat bottom boat. Boone Hall Plantation was constructed in 1743. It is a privately owned working plantation. The original slave cabins are still intact and they offer a program of presentations on the gullah culture. |
